Prom 2025

Arriving in style: Prom night 2025

Only at The Wensleydale School would you find a prom where students arrive in tractors, a horse and cart, and even a vintage fire engine!

This year’s prom was held at school, and as always, it was a real celebration of our Year 11 students – their achievements, friendships, and the end of their time with us.

The evening began with a range of memorable arrivals. True to our setting, students pulled up in everything from lorries and swanky cars to horseback and motorbikes. Seeing students in their prom best alongside working vehicles and local touches made for a very Wensleydale moment – stylish, yes, but with plenty of personality too.

Organised by the students themselves, the event was a great success. With decorations, music, food, and dancing, the atmosphere was full of warmth and celebration.

A favourite part of the evening was the fun awards – chosen by the students and shared with good humour. Categories included, for students: Most likely to get caught doing something they shouldn’t, Most likely to be late (for everything!) and Most likely to be famous for all the wrong reasons, and for teachers: Funniest and Most entertaining alongside the more touching, Teacher of the Year and Heart of the School, which of course went to our very special Headteacher, Julia Polley.

We’re proud of how our students came together to create a night to remember. It was full of laughter, celebration, and a few emotional goodbyes as they look ahead to new beginnings.

As ever, the evening was a reflection of what makes our school community special – a mix of hard work, real characters, and a real sense of belonging.

We wish all our Year 11s the very best in whatever comes next – and we hope they look back on their time at Wensleydale with pride.
