This morning we arrived at school to find we have a major issue with toilets, sewage and drains, due to the unprecedented weather this week. Despite our best efforts we do need external companies to come in and do a full drain clearance and re-set.
Therefore, I am closing school from today and we will reopen on Monday 29 January 2024. All students will have some online work set for tomorrow FRIDAY 26 January 2024.
Any GCSE Mocks will be paused and re-scheduled for next week.
The planned Parents options evening for this evening, will be rescheduled for THURSDAY Feb 8th 2024.
I am in the process of contacting the school bus companies to see when they are able to do a return run today.
If you are able to collect your child please do.
If your child lives locally and can walk home, please email admin@wensleydaleschool.net to let us know. I am trying to keep the phone lines clear to deal with emergency calls.
If you are unable to collect your child or do not give us permission to walk home, I will have staff in school until the end of the day to supervise and set work. We do at the moment have 3 serviceable toilets.
